Have you ever noticed that feeling that you get when you support a small business? It’s like a warm, magical, feeling of joy and satisfaction. The idea of getting a quality product or service while supporting an actual person just makes us feel good!

Reasons to shop small this holiday season:
1. Quality product created with love and care.
2. The satisfaction of supporting a person, a family, a community.
3. The warm smiles on your friends or family members faces when they open their beautiful gifts.

2020 has certainly been a year for the books! Many people are struggling to get by and many businesses have closed. Let’s keep our communities moving forward by showing our support! Below is a list of a few small businesses that I have purchased from or have come across in my own Shop Small holiday search. I've also included a list of a few of my favorite subscription box companies. These awesome companies are not only small businesses themselves, but also purchase lots of products from small businesses to go into each one of their beautiful boxes. These lists are just a small fraction of the amazing companies that are out there. When searching for the perfect gift check out places such as Etsy, Amazon Handmade and local shops & craft fairs to support small businesses. Another gift idea to consider this year would be to purchase gift cards/certificates from local restaurants & small shops.
A few small businesses to check out:
Johnna’s Garage is a go to for personalized gifts!
Peridot Cats Jewelry has beautifully made gemstone bracelets & earrings.
Wolfeboro Candle Co has lovely New Hampshire inspired soy candles & gift sets.
Gunther’s Goodies has healthy treats for your furry friends.
Fancy Flamingo Design is a NH shop that we came across on Etsy. Check out their bright and fun pom pom & tassel decor!
Old Town Spice Shop is where I purchased a popcorn seasoning set for Christmas Eve movie time with the family.
Red Barn Wreaths are gorgeously made right in Maine!
Subscription Boxes:
Aroma Box Me can help you pamper your loved ones with an aromatherapy themed box!
Fruit For Thought is a fruit themed box that is loaded with lots of unique items!
Unplugged Book Box is perfect for the fiction reader in your life. Two different box options to choose from & well thought out self-care items to go along with each book!
Mystic Pup Box is a unique treat for both your loved one and their furry friend with items for both!
The Homegrown Collective is a growing company that focuses on boxes filled with products from small businesses across the United States.

Let's try to fill this holiday season with a little extra kindness, warmth and magic for our families & communities.
